25/5/2020 “Happy city accessible for all”

     The Union of Disabled People’s Organizations of Azerbaijan continues to implement “Happy city accessible for all” project on creation of accessible environment for persons with disabilities and other persons with limited mobility in Lankaran city in the frame of the program “Promoting the Role of Civil Society in Gender-sensitive SDGs Implementation” funded by the European Union and partially funded and implemented by UN Development Programme.

    The aim of the project is to support creation of equal opportunities for people with disabilities in Lankaran city via raising public awareness about development of accessible environment for people with disabilities and by designing an accessibility  model taking into account gender issues.

    Within the public raising activities of the project, 2 educational billboards were placed in different parts of Lankaran city as well as an animation film was produced to be presented to wide public. A comparative analysis of international and national legislation was conducted and published. The objective is to inform wide audience about disability, and in particular about accessibility.
